Jim Bridge

For more than ten years, Jim Bridge’s tremendous dedication and hard work as a member of MESARD has been invaluable. He created MESARD’s Flanker Program, then recruited and trained new flankers to serve MESARD’s canine handlers. As a Flanker, Jim participated in countless MESARD searches. He served as MESARD and MASAR Duty Officer and hosted the March MESARD monthly trainings as well as many other informal trainings, even providing a B&B for those traveling a distance. His willingness to serve as a “lost subject” and his expertise in navigation helped prepare our canine handlers for certification.

Jim served as MASAR Secretary and on its Board of Directors. As MASAR Education Committee Chairman, his focus was on safety. Jim presented many Lost But Found Safe and Sound programs to Maine’s public on behalf of MESARD, and served on several MESARD committees. As BASAR Online Course Manager, he worked tirelessly to rewrite and computerize the BASAR course required for all MASAR ground searchers.

The members of MESARD thank Jim Bridge for his years of outstanding service to MESARD and the Maine search and rescue community.
